Many journals are devoted to the topic of biomaterials and specific fields of biomaterials, such as drug delivery and tissue engineering. Listed below are some of the key journals in these fields. Due to the number of available publications, this list does not include some key general materials science journals, which may also contain articles on biomaterial applications.
Biomaterials. Amsterdam: Elsevier. ISSN: 0142-9612. International journal covering the science and application of biomaterials and associated medical devices. Scope covers the basic science and engineering aspects of biomaterials, including their mechanical, physical, chemical and biological properties, relevant design and production characteristics of devices constructed of these materials, and their clinical performance. The journal is relevant to all applications of biomaterials including implantable medical devices, tissue engineering, and drug delivery systems. Peer-reviewed.
Bio-Medical Materials and Engineering. Amsterdam: IOS Press. ISSN: 0959-2989. International, interdisciplinary journal, publishes original research papers, review articles, and brief notes on materials and engineering for biological and medical systems. Peer-reviewed.
